When you told your folks you were getting married their faces lit up like Christmas trees. When you said "in Vegas!" they looked like you had hit them in the head with a hammer. The thoughts going through their mind was a 2 am wedding in a pink chapel with Elvis conducting the ceremony and matching tattoos at the reception. Well, if that is what you want Las Vegas has you covered but really they offer so much more. Las Vegas has more weddings than any city in the United States and they are not all done by Elvis. Las Vegas has flare and prides its self for having something for everybody so get you wedding favors ready. Wait, first decide on what type of wedding you want, then get your Las Vegas wedding favors together. Its time to get hitched.

If you are just looking for a nice, more traditional wedding, Vegas has plenty of options. Most of the major hotels have standard chapels that are not themed with the casino and most offer a planner to help you set up your arrangements. Unless you live in Las Vegas this will be a priceless help. Some over the chapels seat over 100 people while other seat 50 and some are very small. Once you know how many people will be coming you can pick the appropriate one. If the actual ceremony is very small (5) then you can meet people at the reception. Most of the really small ceremonies can be video taped and can be shown at the reception. You might just decide to do the private ceremony then honeymoon for the week and return home for a reception and show the video there.

If you want a chapel, though, that does stay in the theme you have several choices. Egyptian is one that is common. If you were having your wedding dress made you might even decide to have it made from Egyptian cotton. A lot of our wedding traditions started in Rome and were spread across Europe by the Roman Empire so why not have a Roman wedding. That venue also has a garden if you want to get married outdoors. Las Vegas is one of the few places you don't have to worry about getting rained on (sorry, if you do happen to get rained on it obviously was not meant to be). A pirate wedding would be lots of fun. They do it on their own Treasure Island. You rings are delivered by a pirate swooping down from the crows nest.

It really is the small ones that are so nice. Getting married on the Eiffel tower would be great. Well, of course it's not really the Eiffel tower but you didn't have to fly near as far and this one is legal! Italy is not too close but now you can wed on a gondola. It looks like Venice but clean. A popular wedding in Las Vegas are the helicopter weddings. Yes, you can get married in the helicopter hovering over Vegas but they have more ideas for you. You take the helicopter to the rim of the Grand Canyon and marry there. It is even better at Red Rock Canyon.

How ever you want to marry, you can find it in Las Vegas. Big or small, elegant or gaudy, they can do it.

A used wedding gown can be bought from many places and when you consider it has probably only been worn once if at all then a slightly less expensive dress can be a great saving. You can buy fabulous wedding dresses online so check it out.

The next items are the rings, huge diamonds may look impressive but a plain gold band will be more practical, less likely to lose a stone and be cheaper to insure! Remember it is not the size of the diamond but the size of the heart that gives it.

The wedding breakfast can be made cheaper by inviting a small gathering of family and close friends, wedding venues make a fair amount of money out of catering for weddings so reduce the number of guests and you reduce the cost. If you want a big party for everyone that you have ever met, do it after the honeymoon at a cheaper venue. You will be more relaxed then anyway and probably enjoy it more.

The wedding cake does not have to be a massive commercially made one, if you have a friend who loves cooking ask her to make one, it will make her day and probably be tastier.

A major expense will be the honeymoon if you let it. Think ahead, holidays vary considerably in price throughout the year so if you are set on a couple of weeks in the Caribbean plan your wedding for the cheaper times. Organizing a long haul holiday can be stressful at the best of times so consider a short break in a country hotel instead; you have the rest of your lives to see the world.
